SERVE DAY: JUNE 9
#serverome19 | #serveday19
This Sunday, rain or shine we will be the hands and feet of Jesus. Serve Day will kick off in the Auditorium at 10am.
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45
SERVE DAY 2019
This year, we are excited to partner with other churches in Rome and Floyd County for Serve Day. We will be stepping outside our churches to provide help, show support & share God’s love with our community.
What is Serve Day?
Serve Day is a great opportunity for us to serve others by sharing God’s love in practical ways through meeting needs within our community. Our churches does various types of service projects around our community, including picking up trash, organizing clutter, paperwork, painting, washing windows, planting flowers, cleaning houses or businesses, yard work, visiting nursing homes and hospitals, and more. Serving others provides extraordinary benefits for both those being served and for those serving.
Who can participate?
Serve Day is designed for people of all ages, young children through adults. We have projects for families, including kids, and for individuals. Our goal is for everyone at Cornerstone Church to be able to use our gifts and talents to glorify God by serving others.
Will there be childcare on Serve Day?
We really want Serve Day to be an outreach event that families can do together. There are several family friendly Serve Day projects that would be great for kids of any age. For younger kids, birth through 4 years old, Cornerstone is partnering with West Rome Baptist Church to provide childcare for a portion of the morning. Childcare will be available at West Rome Baptist Church from 9am through 12pm.
How can I be a part of Serve Day?
We have a wide variety of projects to join. You can join a Serve Day Team by signing up on the Serve Day app, or you can stop by the Serve Day table in the Auditorium lobby for more information. We want to help you find the right opportunity to effectively use your gifts to build up the body of Christ and extend the Kingdom of God.
What will Serve Day look like?
This year, Serve Day will be held on Sunday, June 9th. We will meet at the church at our regular weekend service time of 10:00 am. English and Espanol congregations will meet together in the Auditorium for a short, combined service. There will be no childcare that day, so all kids will be with us for the service.
We will wrap up the service by 10:30 am, so that we have plenty of time to connect with our Serve Day Teams and head out to begin our projects. Most projects will wrap up within a couple of hours, so we will be finished in plenty of time for lunch.
Also, if you have a Cornerstone shirt, either the red Serve Team shirt or a gray Cornerstone shirt, wear it that day. If you don’t have a Cornerstone shirt, any red or gray shirt would be great. Come to service dressed and ready to get to work.
What if I have an idea for a Serve Day project?
We need your help to find projects around our community. We would love to hear your project ideas. Take some time to look around you to see who needs help. Maybe a single mother needs home repairs. Maybe a business you frequent could use someone to do a little clean up. Maybe your child’s school has some painting to be done. No job is too small to share God’s love.

Our hope for Serve Day is that serving others becomes our focus throughout the year. Simple acts of selfless love can open hearts to Jesus, and together, we can make a difference in our community.
Testimony from Serve Day 2018 -
Just wanted to say a quick thank you guys for the ministry on Saturday. I’m a pastor from a country called Moldova, just visiting in town on a ministry trip. I went on a long run and didn’t pick up any water. Halfway through my run someone from your church handed me a bottle of water. That was a huge encouragement! What a way to reach out to the community. I think it’s a great idea, I will take back home to my country. May God bless you in the work of the gospel. Teammates in Christ, Pastor E
