KIDS SECURITY AND POLICIES

Our Staff & Volunteers

We do extensive background screening on all of our staff and volunteers for the safety of your children. All volunteers are approved by the Cornerstone Kids staff.

Our Wellness Policy

For the protection of your child and the other children and staff in our ministry, parents are requested not to bring a child to church that appears to be ill.

If anyone in your family has experienced any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours, please worship with us online for now. Children who have had the following symptoms will not be allowed into a classroom:

» Fever over 99.5 / Chills  (please note that teething does not allow waiving the fever policy)

» Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea within the last 48 hours

» Muscle and body aches

» Headache / Fatigue

» Croup / Coughing / Sore throat / Sneezing

» Congestion / Runny nose

» Inflamed throat or mouth

» Itchy, watery or pink eyes

» Difficulty breathing / Shortness of breath / Wheezing

» Loss of taste or smell

» Any skin infections such as boils, rash, staph, ringworm, or impetigo

» Symptoms of childhood diseases (i.e., scarlet  fever, mumps, chicken pox, or measles)

» Lice (eggs or nits)

All children MUST BE symptom free for 24 hours before entering a classroom. If the child is being treated with antibiotics, he or she MUST BE on the antibiotics for 24 hours before entering a classroom.

If your child is diagnosed with a communicable illness or disease within 24 hours AFTER having been in the children’s ministry, please notify one of our department coordinators so that she may notify other parents to watch for symptoms if necessary.

*We do not disperse medication; however, trained coordinators and teachers can administer any asthmatic or allergic type medications if the time required to locate parents would be detrimental to the child. Parents are responsible for informing and training coordinators and teachers.

Incidents

Our ministry partners and staff work hard to ensure the safety of your child. Still, from time to time, we may have an accident occur. If an accident or injury does occur, it will be reported to the parent using an Incident Report. Parents are asked to sign the form before leaving with their child. This is to ensure that we have properly notified you of any incident that occurred.

Potty Policy

Once a child moves up to the 2 & 3 year old classroom, that child is encouraged to use the restroom on their own. Our children’s center has child-sized restrooms for both girls and boys that are intended for their use only. If a restroom situation should occur, we will display your child’s security number on the screen for your assistance. Thanks for your cooperation.

Personal Item Policy

We ask that you do not allow your child to bring toys, purses, dolls or any electronics to class. Cell phones, music players, and hand held games are also not recommended. Exceptions are made for children that have to have a security blanket or stuffed animal for comfort. Cornerstone Church is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
